A message from the Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane:
Let's do something! Something for Peace!
Hi, everybody. Around the country, people are gearing up for demonstrations against a war against Iran. This Saturday, August 2nd, is the day.
In Spokane, we will meet at 1:00 pm at the runners sculptures, Gondola Meadows, Riverfront Park. Bring your own signs or use some of ours.
Speaking of signs, we will meet at PJALS at 5:30 pm this Thursday to make signs for Saturday. Lots of people and ideas will make it fun.
More signs: Saturday the 9th is the 63rd anniversary of the atomic bombing of
Nagasaki. Fairchild is having an air show on that day. PJALS will have two shifts of sign holders along Highway 2, approaching the base. For shift one, meet at PJALS at 9:30 am for car-pooling. For shift two, meet at 11 am. Please call or email to say which shift you prefer or if you'd like to do both. 838-7870, firstname.lastname@example.org
Still more signs: We want to shift our weekly anti-war signs to the interstate.
Let us know if you would like to hold signs on the pedestrian bridge over I-90 at Regal. This would be at 4:30 pm on Thursdays, beginning August 7.
